1. XZ-DSF3-SMB-X Product Overview
1.1. Product Introduction
This sensor is a comprehensive soil sensor that can monitor up to 8 soil elements, including soil temperature, moisture, PH value, conductivity, salinity, and NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium). It has high accuracy, fast response, and stable output. Less affected by soil salinity, suitable for various soil types, it can be buried in soil for a long time, resistant to long-term electrolysis, corrosion, vacuum sealed, completely waterproof.
This sensor is widely used in scientific experiments, water-saving irrigation, greenhouses, flowers and vegetables, grasslands and pastures, soil rapid measurement, plant cultivation, sewage treatment, grain storage, and measurement of water content and temperature of various particulate matter.

2.1 XZ- DSF3-SMB-X working process
XZ-DSF3-SMB-X Switch to different working modes according to working mode, the modes are as follows:
2.1.1 Sleep mode:Sensor does not work, no wireless transmission, and fully sleep with low power consumption.
2.1.2 Normal mode:Periodically detect sensors and transmit signals.

5.Installation instruction
Quick measurement method:
Select a suitable measurement location, avoid rocks, ensure that
the steel needle does not touch hard objects, throw away the
surface soil according to the required measurement depth,
maintain the original tightness of the soil below, tightly grip the
sensor and insert it vertically into the soil. When inserting, do not shake left or right. It is recommended to measure multiple times within a small range of a
measurement point and calculate the average value.
Buried measurement method
Vertically excavate a pit with a diameter greater than 20cm,
insert the sensor steel needle horizontally into the pit wall at a
predetermined depth, and fill the pit tightly. After stabilizing
for a period of time, continuous measurement and recording can
be carried out for several days, months, and even longer
6.Precautions
1. Please check if the packaging is intact and verify if the product model matches the selection;
2. Do not connect wires with electricity. Only after the wiring is completed and checked for accuracy can it be powered on;
3. The length of the sensor wire can affect the output signal of the product. Do not modify the product arbitrarily during use. If there is a need for modification, please contact the manufacturer;
4. Sensors belong to precision devices. Users should not disassemble them themselves or use sharp objects or corrosive liquids to contact the surface of the sensor to avoid damaging the product;
When measuring, the probe must be fully inserted into the soil.
6. Avoid direct exposure to strong sunlight on the sensor, which may cause excessive temperature. Pay attention to lightning protection during outdoor use.
7. Do not bend or forcefully insert the probe, do not use force or repeatedly pull the sensor wire, as it may cause the root of the sensor wire to break and cannot be repaired.
8. Due to the presence of radio frequency electromagnetic radiation in the air, it is not advisable to remain energized for a long time in the air.
9.When measuring frozen ice layers, the moisture value may be too low and inaccurate, requiring user compensation. This product is suitable for measuring ordinary loess, black soil, and red soil. Not suitable for absolute moisture measurement of saline alkali land, sandy land, or other powdery objects with high salinity.
10. The soil moisture calculated by this sensor is the soil volumetric moisture content (also known as soil volumetric moisture content), which is commonly referred to as "soil moisture" or "soil moisture". The calculation method for soil volumetric moisture content is the ratio of the volume of water in the soil to the volume of the soil. 0% represents completely dry soil without any moisture, while 60% represents 100 volumes of soil containing 60 volumes of water. Due to the limited ability of soil to absorb water, it is impossible to have a 100% volumetric moisture content.
